I personally have not been so devastated as I was when I read this news:
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg dies at age 87.
I was in the doctor’s office today when I read it – I literally started crying in my chair. I had to work to compose myself before the examination.
Now I get that she was sick and these things happen. However, we do not live in an ordinary country right now. We live in a nation that is teetering on the brink of outright fascism and one of the legs of the system of checks and balances in our Constitution has been completely broken.
And true to form, Mitch McConnell showed himself to be the fucking worthless sack of shit he is:
This of course is a far cry from his stance in 2016:
“It is a president’s constitutional right to nominate a Supreme Court justice, and it is the Senate’s constitutional right to act as a check on a president and withhold its consent,” McConnell said on the Senate floor following the president’s nomination of U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Merrick Garland.
One cannot hate McConnell enough or wish him the worst enough. He deserves to ………….well, I know what he deserves. Unfortunately, God seems to be favoring cruelty right now instead of justice.
One has to understand how far I have come in my personal journey to be this upset by the passing of a liberal Supreme Court Justice. And it has little to do with Ruth Ginsburg herself and everything to do with the national decay that the United States has undergone since she joined the court. People will say I am over-reacting, but I am not. The United States is on the brink of becoming a full-on fascist nation.
Especially when I consider the fact that this worthless bucket of slime is on the Supreme Court.
Of course, the worthless scum over at the Citadel Facebook Politics group and the patrons of many conservative blogs are positively giddy at the news. As is this fucking ghoul:
Ruth Bader Ginsburg has done far more for this country than any of the worthless slime who say they vote to “fill the court”. She had a vision for America. A good vision – and the people who support Cruz as well as her conservatives colleagues on the court don’t. They thwarted improvements that could have been made to this country.
And of course now the real fight will begin again. The barbarians are at the gate and they must be stopped. Even if it takes burning the Capitol down to do it.
I fear this country, my country, is doomed.
We can’t even begin to estimate the astounding effect of this loss, but we can honor her greatness. Godspeed Justice Ginsberg, you battled for us to your last breath and God, we owe you so much. Rest easy and we will continue in your name.
